Privacy and cookies
SalarySum does not ask for your name, email or salary. Calculations run in your browser and the numbers you enter are never sent to our servers. The only cookies come from Google advertising, and only if you accept them; if you decline, ads are non-personalised. Analytics are cookie-less and anonymous.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. We do not run accounts, forms or newsletters. Server logs record standard request data (IP address, user agent, page requested) for security and are deleted within 30 days.
Cookies and advertising
The site is funded by Google AdSense. When you accept cookies, Google and its certified partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show personalised ads and measure them, under the legitimate interest and consent bases described in Google’s partner sites policy. If you reject non-essential cookies, ads are still shown but are non-personalised. Your choice is stored in your browser only (local storage key salarysum-consent-v1) and can be changed by clearing site data.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Plausible) that record page views and referrers in aggregate. No personal data or cross-site tracking is involved, so no consent is required.
Calculator inputs and share links
When you change a calculator, the inputs are written into the page address so you can share or bookmark the result. That address stays in your browser; it is only sent to us if you load it again, and it is not stored.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold. Because we hold none beyond short-lived logs, requests are usually simple. Contact hello@salarysum.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
